Oh the pure joy of Rainbow Lorikeets! Such gorgeous rich colours shimmering against the more muted Australian bush tones. Yet that red is in the earth, the green in the sunlight through leaves and the tones of purple and blue in the sky. They are such noisy vibrant personalities that they remind me very much of humans. I also associate with them, the intense emotions I felt when I first arrived in Australia and the feeling of finding Home. I suppose it is why I keep painting them when I am exploring the theme of home for myself.
